Class 2 Engineering
Effective from July 2021 a new building registration for building practitioners was legislated. This new legislation relates in detail to the work engineers are required to carry out on residential blocks.
The new legislation requires a class 2 engineer classification and registration to enable engineers to be able to carry out works on residential unit blocks.
Hence, any engineering design work on a residential unit block is required to be carried out by a registered class 2 engineer. This relates to any alterations to existing unit blocks and new residential unit blocks.
At Ross Engineers, our Director, and Senior Engineer John Kantouros is a registered Class 2 Engineer for Civil, Drainage and Structural Engineering.
Ross Engineers work in this specific category for proposed wall openings, and new unit blocks. Typically, we work with new unit blocks of 3 – 4 levels with underground carparks.
